Let me introduce myself. My name is Lilli, I am 40 years old and a mother of two.

I would like to give you a brief description of how I got into the fitness industry and how this stage of my journey began. I married in 1999 and was so ‘content’. In 2000 I went on a month long honeymoon to Australia where food and drink was so cheap, everything was, because our Great British Pound was so strong against the Australian Dollar at that time. When I returned my weight had increased to a little over 11 stones, to be honest, I stopped checking, it could have been more like 12 stones. But at 5ft 5″ it was a lot. It hadn’t increased purely because of the indulgences of my trip away but it had been steadily increasing over the previous three years or so.

I worked three bar jobs at one time running from one pub to another, eating either quick cook food at home or grabbing something from the pub menu. My diet consisted of fast food, carbonated drinks, alcohol, cigarettes and coffee. Lots and lots of coffee. My beautiful daughter was born in 2002 after four years of trying. Doctors had told me that I had Polycystic Ovary Syndrome but looking back at my lifestyle, no wonder I had trouble conceiving. I was fortunate to be a stay at home mum and housewife and I thoroughly enjoyed watching my daughter flourish.

Over the following years I lost some weight by controlling the size of my portions and running around after my daughter. In 2007, after a miscarriage, I was blessed with a healthy son. Life became a whole lot more complicated as I am sure you can imagine. For starters, he didn’t sleep a full night until the age of 2.5 years. I became stressed and unhappy, for reasons that I won’t go into right now. I felt that my life was running out of control and that I needed to do something to regain some of that control. I decided that if life around me was out of my control then I could control what I did (or didn’t) eat.

In about 2010 my son would go to pre-school and my daughter to primary school and by the time I got back from the school run I was exhausted and needed to sleep. I had zero energy and my weight had dropped significantly. I decided that I needed to do something. I wanted to tone up my flabby/sagging skin from the weight loss that bothered me so much and I wanted to feel better. I wanted the energy to run around with my children. This is where my fitness journey began.

I purchased some DVD’s to workout from home. I didn’t have the confidence to join a gym. I was working out in my living room three or four times a week but wondered why I couldn’t get through the routine or why I didn’t feel better. I found this out when I met Lada. I was fortunate to meet Lada in 2011 and I am grateful every single day for meeting him.

Over time he asked me to keep a food diary, note what I was eating, my energy levels, moods etc. it was at that point that I got the shock of my life. OK, so I knew that my diet wasn’t great but he made me realise that I wasn’t feeding my body. I wasn’t consuming enough. I was harming myself. I was in trouble. At that point my weight was approximately 7.5 stones. I had gone from being unhealthily overweight to being unhealthily underweight!

With Lada’s help, guidance, patience and encouragement I managed to get back to a healthy weight and I have gained so much knowledge from him. Not just knowledge, I have gained a confidence with myself that I never had before. Lada encouraged me to study and gain my own qualifications which include:

*exercise to music

*indoor cycling

*aqua aerobics

*yoga

*colonic hydrotherapy

*Pilates

*massage

I have been actively teaching in health clubs since 2014. It has been a challenging journey to where I am now but I wouldn’t change a single thing. It’s the challenges that have helped to shape who I am today.

I constantly look to improve myself, my knowledge and my experiences for myself, my family and to be the best example I can be for my clients. We all have our challenges to overcome but the key to success is not to give up, we need to continue, to move forwards no matter what obstacles are put in our way.

I absolutely love what I do. I am very fortunate to be able to help other, to make a positive impact on their lives. One of my clients said to me recently ‘the difference with you Lilli is that you care and it shows’. I won’t have all of the answers all of the time, but I will do everything in my power to find the answers and to work with individuals to bring out the best in them and to help them to achieve their personal goals.
